Proctoring overview

Proctored exams help ensure candidates complete exams in a secure and controlled environment. YouTestMe supports two proctoring options:

  • Record & review – AI monitors the exam and flags incidents for later review by a proctor.
  • Live proctoring – a proctor monitors candidates in real time.

This guide explains how to monitor candidates using both live proctoring and record & review.

Live monitoring

Live monitoring lets you supervise one or more candidates in real time. Access steps vary by platform. Select your integration method below.

To access Live monitoring:

  1. Go to Tests → Manage tests.
  2. Open the test you want to monitor.
    3. Accessing the test in GetCertified
    Tests → Manage tests → Open a test to access the Proctoring tab
  3. Open the Proctoring tab.
  4. Select the testing session to monitor.
  5. Click Open supervision mode.
    6. Open supervision mode in GetCertified
    Proctoring tab → Select the testing session → Open supervision mode

To access Live monitoring:

  1. Go to My Courses.
  2. Open the course you want to monitor.
    3. Accessing the course in Moodle
    My courses → Open the course
  3. Open the External tool - Proctoring activity.
    4. Opening the external tool in Moodle
    External tools activity → Click to open the proctoring interface
  4. Click Start monitoring button to begin live monitoring.
    5. See room options in proctoring interface
    Click start monitoring to live monitor the candidates

To access Live monitoring:

  1. Open the room you want to monitor.
    2. See room options in proctoring interface
    Open the room to access monitoring and recording options
  2. Click Start monitoring.
    3. See room options in proctoring interface
    Click Start monitoring to begin live monitoring

Live monitoring is typically accessed through your examination platform. Refer to your platform's documentation for platform-specific instructions.

Review recordings

After an exam is completed, recordings can be reviewed at any time. Access steps vary by platform. Select your integration method below.

To review a recording:

  1. Go to Tests → Manage tests.
  2. Open the test you want to review.
    3. Accessing the test in GetCertified
    Tests → Manage tests → Open a test to access the Proctoring tab
  3. Open the Proctoring tab.
  4. Select the testing session you want to review.
  5. Click the Camera icon.
    6. Open supervision mode in GetCertified
    Proctoring tab → Select a testing session → Click the Camera icon to review the recording

To review a recording:

  1. Go to My Courses.
  2. Open the course you want to review.
    3. Accessing the course in Moodle
    My courses → Select the course
  3. Open the External tool - Proctoring activity.
    4. Opening the external tool in Moodle
    External tool - Proctoring → Click to open the proctoring interface
  4. Click Review recordings button to begin reviewing the recordings.

To review a recording:

  1. Find the room you want to review and click Open room.
