Technical Requirements and Compatibility

Article verified for Release 16.1 on September 11, 2026.

YouTestMe is a web-based application designed to provide flexible access across different devices, web browsers, and operating systems. Its responsive design allows users to access the application from desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

Supported devices

YouTestMe can be accessed from a variety of devices, including:

  • Desktop computers
  • Laptops
  • Tablets
  • Smartphones

The application interface adapts to different screen sizes, allowing users to access the platform from the device that best suits their needs.

Supported web browsers

By default, YouTestMe is compatible with all web browsers.

Administrators can configure browser compatibility settings to define which browsers are supported within their environment. They can also choose how the application behaves when a user accesses it from an unsupported browser, including:

  • Displaying a warning to the user
  • Restricting access from unsupported browsers

This allows organizations to limit access to specific browsers when required by their technical or security policies.

For more information on how to prohibit unsupported browsers, please refer to this article.

Supported operating systems

By default, YouTestMe is compatible with all operating systems.

Administrators can configure operating system compatibility settings and define which operating systems are supported. Similar to browser restrictions, the system can be configured to warn users accessing the application from an unsupported operating system or prevent them from accessing the application entirely.

This flexibility allows organizations to define their own device, browser, and operating system requirements while maintaining broad compatibility by default.

For more information on how to prohibit unsupported operating systems, please refer to this article.

Note: Certain features, such as online proctoring, Safe Exam Browser, or browser lockdown, may have additional device, browser, operating system, or hardware requirements. For more information on the technical requirements for a proctored test, please refer to this article.
