How to Allow a Candidate to Modify a Test

This article provides clear guidance on how to allow a candidate to modify a test after it has been submitted. It walks you through each step of the process, from locating the test to enabling the modification option, and the candidate’s perspective on resuming and updating their responses.

Allowing a candidate to modify a test 

  1. In the left-side menu, click the Tests tab, then select Manage tests.
  2. locate the test you want to enable the candidate to modify.
  3. Navigate to the Candidates tab.
  4. Use the search field to find the candidate.

  1. From the Actions column, click the three dots, then select Modify to allow a candidate to modify a test.

  1. After clicking the “Modify” option, a pop-up window appears, where you can enter the desired message. Once you have entered the message, click on the “Save” button.

Note: The student will see this message when reopening a test.

Note: The Modify option is only available for attempts with a Completed status. If a candidate’s attempt is marked as ‘Ready to Continue’, the ‘Modify’ option will not be available.

Candidate Instructions for Modifying the Test

To modify the test, the candidate should:

  1. In the left-side menu, go to the Assignments tab and select My Tests.
  2. Use the search box to find the test.
  3. Click the Modify button.

A pop-up window will display the Instructor’s feedback.

Note: Once the test is reopened:

  • The timer will be disabled.
  • Candidates will be able to change their previous answers.
  • Any previously unanswered questions can now be answered.
