This article outlines how to enable and configure the test results validity period in YouTestMe.
With this feature, you can predefine a validity period for test results, after which a candidate’s results expire and they must retake the test to obtain new valid results. This capability proves especially beneficial for fields that evolve over time, as it enforces compliance by prompting users to renew their certification when updates occur.
For video instructions on how to configure the test validity option, please watch this video.
Enabling the Test Validity Period
To define the test validity period, please follow these instructions:
- Navigate to the Tests section on the left-hand side of the menu.
- Select Manage tests and click the name of the desired test from the list.
- On the Settings tab, choose Result validity settings.
- Check the box next to the Set Result Validity Period option.
- Define the Result validity period (in days). Results remain valid for this specified period beginning at exam submission.
- Click the Save button to save the settings.
The validity period of the result begins upon test completion, and after that period expires, the test results become invalid. To set up the re-certification process, enable the retake option. Please refer to this article for more details on organizing a recertification test.
Candidate’s Perspective
From the candidate’s perspective:
- The system will automatically suspend test attempts once the validity period of the results expires.
- If retakes are permitted (with self-enrollment enabled and available testing sessions), candidates may retake the test to obtain new valid results.
Note: Depending on the system configuration, candidates may receive notifications or reminders about upcoming expiry dates or the need to retake the test. It is recommended that administrators communicate this process clearly to candidates so they are prepared for expiry and retake requirements.
