How to Start the AI-Proctored Test

This article explains how to commence an online AI-proctored test within YouTestMe GetCertified. The test is recorded throughout its duration, with the AI system detecting any violations. These violations are later reviewed by a human proctor.

AI-proctored test #

Unlike online live-proctored tests, where a human proctor monitors the test-taker in real-time, online AI-proctored tests are overseen by a human proctor only after the test has been completed. The test is recorded throughout its duration, with the AI system detecting any violations that the human proctor will later review. Based on their assessment, the proctor then compiles a report and rates the recording as either positive or negative.

For more information on how to create a proctored test, please see this article.

Availability of AI-proctored tests #

In contrast to live-proctored tests that require the presence of a human proctor, and therefore have predetermined test schedules, the primary advantage of AI-proctored tests lies in their continuous availability. AI-proctored tests can be taken at any time, offering candidates flexibility and convenience, as they are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This round-the-clock availability of AI-proctored tests eliminates the need to coordinate schedules between test-takers and human proctors. As a result, candidates can choose a time that best suits their individual needs, allowing them to prepare better and perform at their optimal level during the assessment. Furthermore, institutions administering the tests can accommodate a larger number of test-takers without being constrained by the availability of human proctors, thus increasing overall efficiency.

Starting AI-proctored test – Candidate’s perspective #

This chapter will provide a comprehensive overview of the AI-proctored test starting process from a candidate’s perspective.

On the My tests page within the Assignments module, the candidate will be presented with three views:

  1. List.
  2. Calendar.
  3. Tile.

Note: The administrator can set which view will be defaulted by configuring this option in the System -> Settings and customization. For more information, please read this article.

Note:  The candidate will be presented only with tests for which they are authorized. For more information on this topic, please read this article.

List view – Overview #

The list view displays two key sections:

  1.  To begin the test, the candidate needs to click on the session’s name, which will trigger a pop-up window displaying all the tests for which the candidate has authorization. To start the test, the candidate should first select the desired test and click the Book button.
  2. A table that presents the candidates’ booked tests.

Calendar view – Overview #

Within this view, the candidate will be presented with one session available each day at any time.

Tile view – Overview #

The Tile view lists all tests for which the candidate has authorization, and therefore it is most convenient to start the test.

To initiate an AI-proctored test, candidates can easily locate the desired exam in the list and click the Start button to commence the assessment.

Conclusion #

AI-proctored tests offer significant advantages over traditional live-proctored exams. They provide continuous availability, allowing candidates to take assessments at their convenience, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The process of starting an AI-proctored test is simple and efficient, with authorized candidates able to initiate the exam with a single click on the Start button.

By leveraging artificial intelligence technology, AI-proctored exams ensure the integrity and security of the testing process, while also offering flexibility and accessibility to test-takers. This modern approach to exam administration streamlines the experience for both candidates and educational or professional institutions, ultimately contributing to a more efficient and effective assessment process.
