How to Use the Notes Feature during an Online Exam

This article explains how to use the Notes feature during the test-taking process. This feature allows candidates to write down thoughts, calculations, reminders, or observations while answering questions.

How to Access the Notes

During the exam, candidates can write and save notes for each question. To do so, click the Create New button located in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Please note that depending on your screen size or zoom level, the system may adjust the layout of interface elements. As a result, the Notes option may appear in a different location.

To access it in this case:

Click the hamburger menu (☰) in the top-left corner of the screen.

  • From the menu, click Create New under the Notes section.
  • You can close the menu by clicking anywhere outside of it.

After clicking on “Create New,” a pop-up window will appear. To add a note, the candidate can:

  • Enter the text in the notes field.
  • Use the formatting toolbar to customize the note (e.g., bold, italic, font size, color).
  • Click the Save button to save the note.
  • Close the notes tab by clicking the “X” button.

Note: Created notes can be visible only to the candidate or shared with the test manager, depending on the test settings.

Managing Saved Notes

Once a note is saved, you can manage it by clicking on the three dots (···) next to the note. From there, you can:

  • Edit the note by selecting the pen icon.
  • Delete the note by clicking the bin icon.

Each note will display the question number it is linked to, helping you identify the related content quickly.

To filter your notes:

  • Click on the dropdown menu at the top of the Notes panel.
  • Choose to view notes for a specific question or all notes at once.
