Report Builder

This article explains how to include custom question properties in the Report Builder. It allows the creation of flexible and unique reports using advanced search filters to obtain detailed insight into test/survey statistics and compares items by creating customized reports.

Accessing the Report Builder

To access the Report Builder page, where a list of all tests and surveys is displayed, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Reporting > Report Builder.

  2. To view the report builder for a specific test, click on the test name.

Note: Users will only be able to see the tests/surveys they manage, and only if the 52. Access Report Builder permission is enabled. Without this permission, no tests will be visible.

 

In the Report Builder tab, you can perform the following actions:

  1. Load Template: Manually select the columns you want to include in the report or use an existing template with predefined columns.

  2. Save As:

    • New Report Template: After modifying the columns, you can save the configuration as a new template for future use.

    • Existing Report Template: Select an existing template to save your changes to.
      Note: If you save a modified version over an existing template, it will overwrite the original.

  3. Display Report: Preview the report with the selected columns and configuration.

  4. Edit Column Titles: Customize column names. When the dialog opens, enter the desired name in the Custom Title field and save the changes.

  5. Group Columns: When enabled, selected columns will be grouped under relevant sections. For example, columns under User columns will appear under the User section, while Session columns will appear under Sessions, and so on.

 

 

When you select the Display Report option, each selected field will appear as a column in the report table. In this view, you can:

  1. View grouped columns if the Group Columns option is enabled.

  2. See all selected columns displayed in the report.

  3. Export the report in both PDF and Excel formats.

  4. Return to the Report Builder at any time to adjust column selections or filters.

  5. Switch to the Templates tab to browse and manage all available report templates.

    An example of a report exported in Excel format:

    When you switch to the Templates tab, you can view and manage all available report templates. The following actions are available:

    1. Apply: Use the selected template to generate a report with its predefined column settings.

    2. Edit: Rename the template as needed.

    3. Delete: Remove the template from the system.

    4. Export: Export the report using the selected template in either PDF or Excel format.

     

     

    Advanced Search allows you to build structured queries for more precise results.

    • A simple filter displays results based on a selected column, criteria, and value.

    • A group filter allows you to combine multiple filters using logical conjunction (AND) or disjunction (OR).

    • Negation can be applied to any filter to exclude specific results.

     

    This query generates a report that includes all test attempts by the user with the specified first and last name:

     

    Test Section Groups

    This feature allows you to view aggregated results across multiple test sections by creating Test Section Groups. It is available only for tests that include sections.

    To create a test section group and view aggregated results, follow these steps:

    1. Select the options from the list that you want to display in the report.

    2. Click the Add Section Group button.

      Note: You can add as many section groups as needed.

    3. Enter a name for the Test Section Group.

    4. Choose the Test Sections you want to include in the group for aggregated results.

    5. Optionally, select a Grading Scale for the section group to present results as grades.

    6. Set a Passing Mark for the section group. Based on this threshold, the group will be marked as Yes or No, and the result will appear in the Passed column.

    7. Enable the Inclusive Passing Mark option if you want the section group to be considered passed when the result is greater than or equal to the passing mark.

    8. Click the corresponding delete icon if you wish to remove a test section group.

    By clicking the Display reports button, you can see aggregated results for the section groups you defined:
